Commemorating 9/11

Being in NYC on September 11th always has sobering feelings, but this year the 10th anniversary was extra special. We live only a couple of blocks from Ground Zero and can see Freedom Tower from our apartment window. We took a walk around Ground Zero to check things out. At church we had amazing speakers about their experiences in NYC 10 years ago. The take home message I felt today was to be grateful for life. Those willing to risk their lives. Pray for the victims families. And thank Heavenly Father everyday for our families blessings.

Duffs visit Big Apple

Some of my family headed into the City this week to check out the US Open- Katie and Mawmaw tagged along to check out the city with ME! It was so fun to have them here! I had to work a lot while they were here, but it was still so nice even to spend a few hours with them. We checked out FAO, ate good food, opened LOTS of baby presents, and explored Times Square in the rain. I think Kate loved it all- Can't wait for her to come back to the Big City.
Little Briggs was such a trooper and Kate carried him around the entire time- Luckily Will got him warmed up to him quickly to give Katie's hip a rest.
Nothing better than seeing this man spry and walking about the city.
Mawmaw and I have matching handbags!! I love that Kate Spade made a bag that my Grandma and I both LOVE!
I know... I'm HUGE!

Dear Katie, Come back soon. You need another taste of The Big Apple. Love, New York

Fashion Night Out

My favorite night in NYC all year is Fashion Night Out! Remember last year... I DO!! I always love to go with Will and walk around West Village and Meatpacking district to check out the festivities. My favorite stores were Jimmy Choo and Tory Burch dancing scene. Not to mention these live mannequins at Brooks Brothers that are always creepy, but so cool.
We had a blast again this year!!

Tribeca Adventure

My kids have never really been downtown- So today I decided to show them some of my favorites of Tribeca. We had lunch at the Moomah- I love this place- Yummy food, fun atmosphere, expensive crafts that are better to copy for home use, and the enchanted forrest. After lunch we walk to Pier 25 and played in the water before going to the mini golf course. The kids loved it all- even though it was a mere 100 degrees outside. Sad these guys are going back to school, but that just means baby is coming sooner and I get to experience some fun things in the city with her too.

CAUGHT UP!

SO I THINK I AM FINALLY CAUGHT UP ON BLOGGING!!! You have to go back to May to catch everything I added! Now we are ready to start getting into baby mode- Our posts are about to change- for the better. Hope you enjoy the new posts!

Nesting

I have been a freak show lately. I had a few days off after we moved in and I was nuts about our apt. I would sit for hours searching things online and never making any decisions. William finally brought me to my senses and I justify it now by declaring it NESTING.
I am loving our new apartment, but my favorite piece is this:
Which William turned into this!! I am in love. I often find myself sitting and staring at it.
